FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Who took the photographs on your website?
All of our photographs for this website were taken by Esther Kilgour Photography and we couldn't recommend her more. Find more information about Esther on her website: About - Esther Kilgour Photography
  • Do you travel for facilitation work?
Yes, Tracey is happy to travel outside of Canterbury and will include those costs within the proposal quote. Wherever possible we double up on engagements to reduce travel kms and costs.
  • Why is the trauma informed approach useful?
Agricultural discussions are huge - there are no simple answers, topics are complex and nuanced and the overlay of family with farming means that some discussions also bring emotion. A trauma informed approach acknowledges that every individual comes to the discussion with their own experiences, nervous system and life. At AgriThrive we believe that brave spaces can be created to open a challenging conversation with robust discussion which can then be closed off, allowing the individuals present to return to their day-to-day with as little lasting impact from the conversations as possible. We hope that with time a trauma informed approach to facilitation will become the status quo.
  • Do you do online faciliation?
Yes, we do. Tracey is an experienced webinar facilitator and enjoys the accessibility that online facilitation brings to an audience.
  • How does a trained, experienced facilitator make a difference?
A trained, experienced facilitator appreciates the value of the knowledge in the room and is trained in bringing that forward from participants. A facilitator should be neutral, un-biased, leaving their own opinions at the door. The facilitator should draw on the collective thinking and present it back to the group in a way that makes sense. The added benefit of a facilitator familiar to the industry is that they can distill the information from the session and link it in to a wider network to present solutions and contacts back to the group if they would like it.
  • Do you have an example of Tracey's catchment group work?
Yes, the best example of Tracey's catchment group work is a case study found on the NZ Landcare Trust web site here: NZ_Landcare_Trust_Case_study_UWCC.pdf This case study is also a good example of the breadth of work that catchment groups are engaged in. For further information on either of those catchment collectives please feel free to follow them on social media.
